If you have an email account with BTInternet or Yahoo, please be aware that their 'spam' filters tend to err on the cautious side, and emails from quite legitimate sources (like ourselves) can easily end up in your 'bulk' folder. There are also reports of email delivery being delayed - from an hour or so to several days in rare cases.
We will send emails from two domains - girlguidingsurreyeast.org.uk for general email, and eventbrite.com for training course bookings. Please make sure that your email system knows that these are 'friendly' email sources.
If you are expecting a course or event related email from us - an acknowledgement for a booking for instance, or confirmation of course details a week or so before the date - it may well be worth checking your bulk mail!
We have taken steps to ensure our mail is treated sensibly by all email providers, but the problems with BTInternet/Yahoo seem especially difficult to resolve. It has been suggested (by BT) that their users should check their Spam (or Bulk) email folders (on-line) regularly and mark as 'friendly' any mail wrong treated as spam by them; also, I understand that email received from any person in your online address book is automatically treated as friendly.
If you collect your email locally (using Outlook for example) rather than on-line, btinternet will helpfully delete what it thinks is spam online and not deliver it to you - you have to log into your BT account on-line to see it and make the changes to your spamm settings there.
Please add webmaster@girlguidingsurreyeast.org.uk to your ON-LINE address book to make sure you get emails from Surrey East. Any problems - BT's advice is that you contact them direct!
