Holiday & Camp training

Surrey East runs annual trainings for Holiday and Camp licences Leaders (residential) and Senior Section (one day).

Our booking agents, Eventbrite, have recently made a significant change to their system and you will be asked to provide a password on booking. You do not need to complete this as it is only relevant to a feature we will not be using at this time - simply leave the password fields blank please. Also ignore any emails direct from Eventbrite that are not related to your application.


Holiday and Camp courses cover:-.

  • Overnight - An overnight event involves staying away from home for one night only, this includes sleepovers. Brownie Guides, Guides or Senior Section members may sleep out of doors or in indoor accommodation.
  • Indoor residential - Brownie Guides, Guides or Senior Section members on holiday stay overnight for one or more nights in indoor accommodation, this includes caravans, hostels, narrowboats, youth hostels etc.
  • Outdoor residential - Brownie Guides, Guides and Senior Section members camping for one or more nights in tents.
  • Health & Hygiene
  • Caterer - The caterer is responsible for all catering arrangements including supplying food and catering equipment and all food hygiene.

For Leaders, Assistant Leaders and Leaders-in-Training the course is residential over a weekend; for Senior Section members the course lasts a single day. All participants are required to have a valid First Response qualification (details of available courses), basic emergency aid or first aid certificate.
