Programme & Training

Have you ever wanted some FUN and BRIGHT IDEAS for your Unit meeting? We aim to teach some new ideas - and refresh some of the older ones - for the Unit's programme to new Leaders as well as our more experienced ones; to teach them new skills; and update them on new initiatives.

ALL Leaders are advised to maintain their skills by regularly attending trainings.

Programme and Training in Surrey East regularly runs courses/sessions on general topics like Accounts, Gift Aid, Walking Safely, Be Prepared (for Risks), Safe From Harm, Basic Food Hygiene, and First Response, along with topical subjects. In addition there are trainings on all the Section programme updates and initiatives, new resources and other topics of a general nature, as well as occasionally some sessions for the Leaders themselves - a bit of fun for them.

These take place during an evening, a day or half day training at venues spread across the County.

Section trainings are essential for all new Leaders and useful for the experienced ones alike to introduce new programme ideas and new initiatives. These are included in the regular evening trainings.

Apart from gaining new ideas or refreshing older ones, by attending any trainings you have the chance to air and share with fellow Leaders and gain lots more ideas this way too.

Suggestions If you have any suggestions for topics for trainings please let your Division P & T Representative know. If by chance you don't know who this is - just ask your District Commissioner. Or, alternatively you can email Carole Summers.

Training assistance Do you have an expertise or skill you could and would be prepared to share with others, occasionally? Would you help at a training session on your own or with someone else? If so we would love to hear from you. Please contact Maria Young
