People are more than their behaviour

REMEMBER

There are no difficult people:-

• just limits to our patience
• and our people skills.

There are no irrational people:

• just limits to our understanding.

People do the best they can:

• with the resources they have
• with the way they see the world.

To change the way others behave we use our behaviour:

• to make them feel safe and resourceful
• to give the a good reason to change.

We have to know what we want them to do.

We have to be flexible.

If we know what we are doing is not working we have to do something different.

There is always a reason for people behaving as they do.
