It's always good to have 'experts'
come in to the Unit meetings to talk about their special
subjects - all the people in this section have been
along to meetings and the comments are those of the
Unit Leadership team.
There's no need for visitors to be CRB'd as you won't be giving them unsupervised access to your young people. It's good practice to discuss with the visitor before the day the scope of the talk or demonstration, and to give them an idea of the expectations and capabilities of your Unit. And don't forget to offer a contribution towards travelling expenses etc even if no fee has been requested, as well as making sure that one of your team takes on the responsibilities of 'host' throughout the visit.
We'd like your help to expand this resource - please send your own experiences (good or bad - it's just as important to know what didn't work!) to the webmaster together with your name and the name of your Unit..
