Last night we visited Nower Wood for a 'creatures of the night' torch walk.
It was absolutely brilliant - the girls were so excited when we met in the car park by torch light - we climbed the long dark stairs to the huts and had a quick dos & don'ts with the fantastic, enthusiastic, knowledgeable Alan - then off for a walk along the dark trail to the ponds - listening for bats as we went with our detectors - one did eventually come out to play and the girls were so animated and noisy but he didn't mind - they all looked under logs for creepy crawleys and then looked in the traps at the voles Alan had caught for us to view - they also loved letting them all go and watched them scuttle back to their homes !
Worth every penny - £5.50pp from 19:30 till 21:00
