Surrey Scouts Pioneering Workshop
21st September - 22nd September
The Pioneering Workshop will run over the weekend of 21st and 22nd September 2019.
The programme includes two full days of Pioneering skills plus an optional Saturday evening crafts session when you can learn about making Turk’s Heads (Woggles), sinnets (decorative knot/rope work), Wrist straps/Key Fobs/ Butterflies, etc
Overnight accommodation is available and we anticipate the cost to be £60.00 for the two days including all materials and meals.
One aspect of promoting these activity skills workshops is that we do need a minimum of 12 learners to be cost viable – Please could you spread the word to your colleagues and fellow District Leaders, Assistants and helpers.
Venue : Surrey County Site, Parker Lodge, Bentley Copse Activity Centre, Houndhouse Road, Shere, Surrey, GU9 5JH
This skills workshop appeals to all levels of experience – we have had scouters new to scouting who arrived in awe of the premise of greatness and would they be ‘worthy’ who have left glowing with success; one lady, a beaver leader, wrote to the DC highly recommending the pioneering workshop if only to boost confidence in own abilities – equally, we had a ‘rigger’ from New Zealand who enjoyed the experience so much he wrote an article for the international ‘riggers’ trade publication. …and, of course, there’s something for everyone in between.
